Mumbai, May 19: Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has taken on a variety of roles throughout her career. Currently, she is in the spotlight for her upcoming film “System.” During the film’s promotion, she candidly discussed her cinematic journey, past characters, and changing audience preferences. She noted that not only has her approach to work evolved over time, but she also now chooses her roles with greater thoughtfulness.
Reflecting on her early films, Sonakshi recalled, “When I entered the industry, I was part of colorful, entertaining, and completely masala-style films. I had a lot of fun working on movies like ‘R. Rajkumar’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore.’ At that time, I was in a phase of my career where audiences preferred to see me in that style.”
She added, “I played these characters with complete honesty and joy. However, every artist goes through different phases, and audience preferences and industry demands change over time.”
The actress further stated, “Now, I am at a point in my career where I want to do only work that gives me inner satisfaction. I see myself as an actress who can portray all kinds of characters. I want people to view me as an artist who can fit into any type of film. I am now focusing solely on the projects I genuinely want to pursue.”
Sonakshi expressed gratitude for her earlier film experiences, saying, “If I hadn’t done masala films at the beginning, I might not have had the opportunity to play diverse and serious roles today. These films brought me love, recognition, and support from the audience. It is because of their affection that I can now choose roles that resonate with me and be part of new kinds of stories.”
Discussing her upcoming film “System,” Sonakshi revealed that it holds special significance for her. This courtroom drama marks her first role as a lawyer. In the film, she will portray a stenographer. “System” is set to release on May 22 on Prime Video.
