Bihars Agriculture Sector Set to Soar Under PM Modis Guidance: Vijay Sinha

New Delhi, May 28: Bihar’s Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to discuss various issues, including increasing the participation of youth and women entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. The meeting aimed to seek guidance from the Prime Minister on these matters.

Sinha shared insights from the meeting on the social media platform X, highlighting a heartfelt discussion with Modi about realizing the vision of “Developed Bihar, Developed India.” The focus was on ensuring positive and empowered participation from youth and women entrepreneurs in agriculture.

He praised the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership and dedication to agricultural revolution, stating that under Modi’s guidance, Bihar’s agriculture sector will reach new heights.

Earlier, during the celebration of the BJP government’s 12 years in power, Sinha commended Modi’s leadership and urged the opposition to play a constructive role. He noted that while the opposition’s role is often to critique the government, there is a growing acknowledgment that India is progressing towards self-reliance.

Sinha remarked that in the past 12 years, social harmony has improved, and incidents of riots and unrest have decreased. He claimed that development has accelerated across all sectors—land, air, and water—and there have been unprecedented changes in infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on skill development for the populace.

He emphasized that to fulfill the vision of a developed India, collective effort is essential.

Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, Sinha noted that the Prime Minister has sacrificed personal comfort, considering 1.4 billion citizens as his family, and has worked tirelessly for the nation’s development and welfare.

Describing Bihar as an agriculture-centric state, Sinha stated that 76% of the state’s population relies on agriculture, with 94% of farmers belonging to small and marginal categories. He highlighted that the state’s economy is primarily agricultural, and various central government schemes have created a favorable environment for increasing farmers’ incomes.

However, he acknowledged that small farmers face investment challenges. The Bihar government is continuously working to address these issues.

As the Revenue and Land Reforms Minister, Sinha reported that 4.7 million farmers have been issued Farmer IDs during his tenure. The government’s target is to create an additional 5 million Farmer IDs.

He concluded by stating that ensuring the comprehensive development of farmers will lead to progress not only for their families but for all of Bihar as well.
