Satish Jarkiholis Name Surfaces Ahead of CLP Meeting in Karnataka

Bengaluru, May 30: As discussions intensify around the possibility of D.K. Shivakumar becoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi’s name has also emerged prominently. Supporters are advocating for Jarkiholi to be appointed as Deputy Chief Minister and state party president.

A supporter of Jarkiholi stated, “Wherever you go in Karnataka, people believe that Satish Jarkiholi should be given a significant role. He is a people’s leader and has worked tirelessly for the party. Our demand is that he should receive the same position that D.K. Shivakumar is set to get. This is the request of our party workers. Jarkiholi is well-known across Karnataka, and wherever he was assigned responsibilities during elections, he performed exceptionally.”

When asked if he would be given command of the state Congress unit, Satish Jarkiholi replied, “Nothing has been decided yet. Discussions are still ongoing.”

Currently, there is a flurry of activity in Bengaluru regarding the formation of the government. Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala and Congress General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal have arrived in Bengaluru, where the selection of the Karnataka Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader will take place.

Regarding the CLP meeting, Jarkiholi mentioned, “D.K. Shivakumar will be elected as the CLP leader. Following that, there will be a swearing-in ceremony for the Chief Minister.”

Congress MLA Yasir Ahmed Khan Pathan stated, “The CLP meeting has been convened to elect our leader. D.K. Shivakumar will be chosen as the Chief Minister. Randeep Surjewala, Siddaramaiah, and everyone will be present. There is a wave of happiness among Congress workers today.”

MLA M.C. Sudhakar added, “This is just a formality. It is already clear that there are no other contenders for this position. There is only one candidate, and it is very clear. Siddaramaiah himself proposed his (D.K. Shivakumar’s) name. Therefore, I believe this is a formality where a one-line proposal will be passed.”
