NDA Cadets Celebrate Graduation with a Blend of Technology and Traditional Warfare Training

Pune, May 30: The National Defense Academy (NDA) held its 150th passing out parade, with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi as the chief guest. Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, head of the Southern Command, also attended the ceremony. Cadets shared their experiences during the event.

Shagun, a cadet from Rajasthan, expressed, “My sole inspiration has been my father. He could not continue his service in the armed forces, so I took his place. Often, we limit ourselves and fail to recognize our true potential. Coming here made me realize that I am capable of much more than I previously thought.”

Sahil Sharma from Jammu and Kashmir stated, “I aim to serve in the army, but we have not yet been assigned to a specific branch. I am less interested in academics and understand that Air Force and Navy cadets must pursue a B.Tech. I chose the army due to my greater interest in physical activities.”

He added, “When technology fails, the basics come into play. With advancements in technology, we have been introduced to modern systems like scan drones at the NDA. However, we have also received training in the fundamental principles of traditional warfare.”

Rohit from Jhajjar, Haryana, remarked, “Female cadets have achieved numerous milestones, and I believe we should refer to them simply as cadets, as they perform just as well as we do.”

Another cadet, also named Rohit, shared, “My first inspiration was my father. My second was my school, the National Military School in Bangalore, where I learned military discipline.”

On joining the NDA, he said, “It cannot be expressed in words; it is truly extraordinary. I am enjoying it immensely. It feels great, and I can see the pride on my parents’ faces. This has been the best experience so far.”
