New Delhi, May 30: Congress leaders Pawan Khera and Shama Mohammad have criticized the government’s handling of the NEET exam paper distribution. They expressed their views on the Supreme Court’s comments regarding the National Testing Agency (NTA), the Karnataka leadership meeting, and fuel stock management. Both leaders dismissed the government’s claims of using Air Force planes for the NEET exam as mere theatrics by the BJP government.
Regarding Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the Chief Minister‘s position in Karnataka, Pawan Khera stated, “Our party is very old, disciplined, and experienced. Our leaders are seasoned. The changes that surprise everyone happen repeatedly. A 140-year-old party can teach other political parties, who consider themselves the world’s largest, that solutions are found through love and dialogue, not through force.”
On the NEET paper leak issue, Khera remarked, “What could be a bigger cruel joke on our youth and children? Until now, we demanded the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. Next time a paper leaks, we will demand the resignation of Rajnath Singh, as now we are preparing to bring papers using Air Force planes. We will also demand the Prime Minister’s resignation, who comes to oversee after a scam occurs. Why not oversee before a scam happens?”
Commenting on the Supreme Court’s remarks about the NTA, he asked, “In their response to the Supreme Court, they mentioned that the Prime Minister is overseeing. Today we again ask, who will be accountable for the future of millions of children that has been ruined today? Will this generation wait until 2047? Their loss has already occurred.”
Congress spokesperson Shama Mohammad stated, “The claims of using Air Force planes for the NEET exam and other measures are mere theatrics. The real question is, we have seen leaks associated with the NTA, and who is responsible? There is one person who should be held accountable, and that is Dharmendra Pradhan. The Prime Minister should first demand his resignation. Only then can we move forward. Every democracy has a principle of accountability. Someone has to take responsibility, and in this case, Dharmendra Pradhan should accept full responsibility. Since the BJP government came to power in 2014, we have seen that no one takes responsibility. Which minister has resigned?”
On the Vande Mataram controversy in Kerala, Shama Mohammad said, “The BJP should stop its politics of polarization. As for ‘Vande Mataram,’ we all sing it. I sing it too. In our DCC meetings, we sing the first four or five lines every time, and this has always been our tradition. Why change it now? We will continue to sing it this way. Who are they to instruct us on what to do and how to do it? We will make our own decisions on how things should be done. From morning to evening, they talk about Hindus, Muslims, and Vande Mataram. There are so many important issues facing the country. Are they aware that petrol prices have risen, making life difficult?”
Regarding the change of Chief Minister in Karnataka, Shama Mohammad commented, “This is a good thing. Rahul Gandhi made the right decision. Everyone is happy, and the transfer of power will be smooth. We are appointing a capable leader as Chief Minister, one that the public wants and party workers support. In contrast, we have seen how the BJP appoints weak individuals as Chief Ministers.”
