JP Nadda Casts Vote in His Ancestral Village, Urges Public Participation in Panchayat Elections

Shimla, May 30: Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda voted in his ancestral village during the third phase of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayat elections. On Saturday morning, he participated in the democratic process by casting his vote in Vijaypur Sungla village, located in the Jhanduta assembly constituency, alongside his family.

After voting, Nadda shared a photo with his family on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Today, on the occasion of the third phase of Panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh, I voted in my ancestral village Vijaypur Sungla in the Jhanduta assembly constituency, ensuring my participation in this festival of democracy.”

Nadda emphasized the importance of collective participation to strengthen the Panchayati Raj system. He urged all voters to exercise their voting rights without fail, highlighting that Panchayat elections are a means to reinforce the roots of democracy.

He further added, “Collective participation holds unique significance in empowering the Panchayati Raj and strengthening the democratic system. I urge all voters to join in this festival of democracy and vote diligently for the proper development of their villages, regions, and the state.”

Nadda remarked that every voter’s invaluable vote plays a crucial role in building empowered villages and a developed Himachal Pradesh. He described voting as a fundamental duty of citizens and the foundation of a robust democracy.

It is noteworthy that the Panchayat elections in Himachal Pradesh are being conducted in three phases, with the third phase taking place on Saturday. The BJP and other parties are vigorously contesting to strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions in the state.
