Patna, May 30: RJD leader and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi, has firmly refused to vacate her residence at 10 Circular Road, despite receiving a government notice. In response, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Chaudhary, stated that the law applies equally to everyone and that compliance is mandatory.
While addressing reporters in Patna regarding the residence dispute, Chaudhary remarked, “In government procedures, what anyone says is of little importance. What truly matters is adherence to official regulations. Regardless of how many forces are deployed, it is not about numbers; it is about following government rules.”
Chaudhary’s comments came after Rabri Devi declared, “I will not vacate the residence.” She directly challenged Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, asserting, “If the government wishes, they can use police force. They have just become Chief Minister. Let them call in the forces to evict us. We will not leave the residence.”
The government bungalow at 10 Circular Road has been allocated to Minister Nand Kishore Ram. However, Rabri Devi has been residing there for an extended period. The Building Construction Department issued an official notice to the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, instructing her to vacate the government accommodation.
According to an order released by the Building Construction Department on Friday, the bungalow has officially been assigned to Nand Kishore Ram. Preparations are also underway to install a new VIP nameplate on the bungalow, signaling its formal transfer.
