Trump Hints at Possible Agreement with Iran Amid Rising Tensions

Washington, March 30: Former U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that a deal with Iran could be on the horizon. He claimed that recent U.S. attacks have weakened Iran’s military and leadership, accelerating the potential for negotiations.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from Mar-a-Lago in Florida, Trump stated, “I believe an agreement with Iran is possible, and it could happen soon.”

He elaborated that the U.S. is engaging in both direct and indirect talks with Iran. “We are communicating with them directly as well as through intermediaries,” he said.

Trump linked these discussions to recent military actions, asserting that the U.S. has inflicted significant damage on Iran. “We have destroyed their 158 ships, their entire navy, air force, and most of their missiles,” he claimed.

He also noted a shift in Iran’s leadership following these attacks. “There is now new leadership that is behaving more sensibly than before,” he added.

According to Trump, Iran has accepted many of the U.S.’s demands. “We presented them with 15 requests, and they have agreed to most of them,” he mentioned.

He further stated that Iran has shown goodwill by supplying oil to the U.S. “They have provided us with several large oil tankers and have mentioned sending 20 more, with deliveries starting tomorrow.”

However, Trump acknowledged that certainty regarding a final agreement is not guaranteed. “I think a deal will happen, but it is also possible that it won’t,” he said.

When asked about sending U.S. troops, Trump noted that the U.S. has multiple options. “We have significant military strength in the region and several alternatives,” he remarked.

He reiterated a tough stance on Iran’s nuclear program, stating, “I do not want Iran to possess nuclear weapons, as they could use them immediately.”

Trump warned of severe consequences if Iran fails to meet the conditions. “They must abandon their nuclear weapons if they wish to become a strong country again. If not, their nation could be in jeopardy,” he cautioned.

He concluded by mentioning that many countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, are now standing with the U.S. “They are all responding and fully aligned with us,” he said.
