Mukul Chaudhary: IPL Easier Than Domestic Cricket Despite Mental Pressure

New Delhi, May 23: Mukul Chaudhary, a standout player for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2026, has made headlines with his explosive batting in the middle order. He recently shared insights on adapting to the pressures of the IPL and the expectations that come with it.

In an interview with GeoStar, Mukul stated, “The mental pressure in the IPL is significant. There are many more people watching you. However, in some ways, things are easier here because you know the strengths and strategies of the opposing bowlers. You have access to video analysis and data for preparation, which you don’t have in domestic cricket.”

He added, “Preparation in the IPL is more detailed. Staying in the spotlight and meeting public expectations presents a unique challenge for new players.”

Mukul explained that pressure mounts when performing on a big stage in front of a large audience, especially for newcomers in the IPL. “There is a bit of mental pressure, but if you remain calm and stick to your processes, you can manage it,” he noted.

Making his league debut against the Delhi Capitals, Mukul admitted he initially did not expect to make the playing eleven. “I wasn’t fully prepared for it. When I was told I might get a chance, and then finally that I was in the playing eleven, my reaction was quite normal,” he recalled.

“Mentally, I was ready; I knew I had to do my job. You can’t worry about when the opportunity will come. It can arise at any moment, so I kept preparing consistently. When I stepped onto the field, I didn’t feel much difference. There were just a few new things—the crowd, the cameras, and being on live television. That created some pressure, but I managed it. I was prepared for it.”

At just 21 years old, Mukul has scored 169 runs in 9 innings during the season. His unbeaten 54 runs off 27 balls against KKR garnered significant attention.
