Patna, May 23: Dipaankar Bhattacharya, General Secretary of the CPI-ML, stated on Saturday that the BJP has not only removed Nitish Kumar from power but has also overturned his entire political discourse and governance model. In Bihar, the focus has shifted from good governance to bulldozers and encounters, from development to displacement, and from communal harmony to hatred, mob lynching, and a politics of violence.
Addressing a press conference in Patna, he highlighted that oppressive actions against Dalits, the poor, minorities, women, students, and laborers are becoming the new normal. The press conference also featured remarks from the party’s re-elected state secretary Kunal, AIPWA General Secretary Meena Tiwari, MLA Sandeep Saurabh, and AISA State Secretary Dhananjay.
Bhattacharya emphasized that the bulldozer has become a symbol of BJP’s governance. He pointed out that these bulldozers are not targeting mafias, corrupt individuals, or major criminals but are instead being used against the poor, street vendors, slum dwellers, and Muslims. These actions are being carried out bypassing legal and judicial processes. He accused the Bihar government of declaring individuals as criminals and shooting them without any fair investigation or judicial process. The police openly state that bullets will be aimed at the chest, not the leg. Through the politics of bulldozers and encounters, anyone can be labeled as a Bangladeshi, encroacher, or anti-national.
He criticized the police for their recent actions, alleging that five individuals were shot without any transparent investigation, specifically targeting one community. Bhattacharya noted that today, the youth, especially Gen Z, are deeply agitated. Unemployment is at an all-time high, while recruitment exams are continuously plagued by paper leaks. The education system from Delhi to Patna has fallen prey to mafia and corruption.
He directly stated that the leaks of NEET and AEDEO exam papers are not merely administrative failures but are the result of organized crime and political patronage. Millions of students’ futures are being jeopardized. He demanded the resignation of the education ministers from both the central and Bihar governments, insisting that those responsible for ruining the education system must be held accountable.
