Mumbai, May 23: Actor Bobby Deol appeared deeply emotional during his conversation with host Shekhar Suman on the chat show ‘Shekhar Tonight.’ He spoke candidly about the emptiness he feels following the passing of his father, Dharmendra, and tears welled up in his eyes.
During the discussion, Shekhar Suman poignantly remarked, “There is a big tree under which the entire family is sheltered. When it leaves, it feels incredibly empty.”
In response, Bobby Deol offered solace to Shekhar, who has also experienced the loss of a son at a young age, stating that such wounds can never truly heal.
Bobby shared, “My father was incredibly special to me. He was a person loved by the entire world. We always felt this. Now that he is gone, the pain is not just for our family but for the entire world. Even today, wherever I go, people become emotional remembering him. My father was very special; no one can replace him.”
Shekhar Suman praised Dharmendra’s simplicity, noting that he interacted warmly with everyone at his farmhouse, from gardeners to household help. He found joy in the smallest things, like brinjal, fenugreek, and parathas.
Dharmendra was one of the most beloved and iconic actors in Indian cinema, boasting a remarkable career that spanned over six decades. He passed away in November 2025 at the age of 89.
Bobby Deol also mentioned that life has changed significantly since his father’s passing. While the family continues to support each other, the void left by his father can never be filled.
