Mumbai, May 23: The rise of social media and artificial intelligence (AI) has made life easier for many. However, it has also raised concerns about misuse. Recently, several fake images and videos of celebrities have gone viral online, manipulated using AI technology.
One such incident involves actress Rukmini Vasant. She has publicly denounced the fake images circulating on social media that allegedly feature her. Rukmini stated that these images are entirely fabricated and expressed her outrage over the situation.
In an official statement on Instagram, Rukmini said, “My team and I have come across some images being shared in my name, featuring my face. These images are completely fake. Do not trust such pictures, as they have no connection to reality.”
She further emphasized, “Manipulating someone’s images in this manner is extremely wrong. AI technology should not be used to tarnish someone’s image or spread false information. This is a serious violation of privacy and such actions are mentally distressing. People on social media quickly share such things without knowing the truth, which worsens the situation.”
Rukmini added, “My team and I are taking action regarding this matter. Legal and cybercrime actions are being initiated against those involved in creating and disseminating these fake images. I urge everyone not to share or promote such pictures. Spreading false and misleading content is just as wrong as creating it.”
Regarding Rukmini Vasant’s career, she is a well-known face in the South Indian film industry. Her popularity surged after the film ‘Kantara,’ where audiences praised her acting skills.
