Tragic Road Accident in Madhya Pradesh Claims Four Lives and Injures 41

Bhopal, May 30: A tragic road accident in Umaria district, Madhya Pradesh, has left four families devastated. On Friday, a tractor-trolley carrying a group of devotees overturned near Bijoura Tola in the Pali police station area, close to the Anuppur-Umaria district border.

The accident resulted in the deaths of four individuals, while 41 others sustained injuries. Among the injured, six are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to Shahdol District Hospital for advanced treatment.

Reports indicate that approximately 45 to 50 people were on board the tractor-trolley. All the devotees were residents of Ginjari village in Anuppur district, returning from a prayer session at the Shani temple near Bijoura. The vehicle lost control while navigating a small bridge, leading to the tragic overturning.

Panic ensued at the scene of the accident, prompting local villagers to rush for help and notify the police. Two individuals died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Ghanshyam Gond from Padmaniya, Sahbal Baiga from Ginjari, Veer Singh (son of Madhav Singh) from Ginjari, and Bhupati Singh (son of Bhagirath Singh) from Padmaniya.

All injured individuals were initially taken to the Pali Community Health Center, where they received first aid before the critically injured were transferred to Shahdol.

Preliminary police investigations suggest that excessive speed was a major factor in the accident. Officials stated that the tractor-trolley became unbalanced while turning on the bridge. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, questioning the driver and eyewitnesses to determine whether negligence or a mechanical failure contributed to the incident.
