Rajasthan Government Withdraws Security for MP Hanuman Beniwal

Jaipur, May 30: Tensions between the BJP and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) are escalating as the Rajasthan government has reduced security for Nagaur MP and RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal.

On Friday, Beniwal criticized the state government after three personal security officers (PSOs) linked to the Jaipur Police Commissioner’s office were removed. He stated that he never requested security, asserting that thousands of young people across Rajasthan are sufficient for his protection.

Speaking on the matter, Beniwal recalled that during the controversy surrounding the sub-inspector recruitment exam, former intelligence officer Sanjay Agrawal had arranged his security. He noted that commandos armed with AK-47 rifles were deployed from Jaipur, while additional security personnel were stationed from Nagaur. In total, eight security personnel were assigned to him, with four from Jaipur and four from Nagaur.

Beniwal explained that two security officers were stationed at his residence, two were on standby, and four were with him at all times. He mentioned that he had been informed of threats from powerful groups, including sand mafia and organized crime syndicates. He emphasized that he had never requested security, even after the government decided to withdraw it.

He questioned the rationale behind the initial provision of security and the subsequent removal. The Nagaur MP also accused the government of failing to address recent protests and law-and-order issues.

Referring to a movement supporting ascetics, he claimed the government wanted him to enter Jaipur to be detained alongside protesters. He further alleged that certain elements attempted to disrupt the Eid celebrations and drag him into controversy. However, Beniwal asserted that he maintained restraint and prevented the situation from escalating. He stated that the government aimed to create conflict and tension in Jaipur, but they had already resolved the issue and ensured communal harmony remained intact.
