CM Yogi Adityanath Urges Timely Selection in Ongoing Recruitment of Over 81,000 Positions

Lucknow, May 30: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed that the recruitment processes for the police be monitored more effectively through technology. He emphasized the need for complete adherence to reservation standards while ensuring transparency, fairness, and integrity in every selection process. This year is crucial for enhancing the Uttar Pradesh Police, as over 81,000 positions are currently being filled.

During a review meeting with the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, the Chief Minister stated that all recruitment and promotion procedures must be completed within the set timelines, prioritizing the convenience and transparency for candidates. He praised the board’s reliable operations and instructed the maximum use of technical resources for regular monitoring.

The meeting revealed that the recruitment board is currently overseeing the filling of a total of 81,472 positions. This includes 4,543 for Sub-Inspector of Civil Police and equivalent posts, 41,424 for Home Guards, 32,679 for Constable Civil Police and equivalent positions, 1,352 for Grade-A Computer Operators, 537 for Sub-Inspector (Confidential) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (Clerk and Accountant), 55 for Grade-2 Programmers, 44 for Radio Assistant Operators, 637 for skilled player recruitment, and 201 for deceased dependent recruitment. Progress on various recruitment processes was also discussed.

For the Sub-Inspector Civil Police recruitment for 2025, the Document Verification/Physical Standard Test (DV/PST) is scheduled for June, with final results expected in the third week of July. For Home Guards enrollment in 2025, DV/PST is planned for July, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) in August, and final results in the second week of September. The written exam for Constables and equivalent positions is set for June 8, 9, and 10, 2026, with approximately 2.8 million candidates having applied.

The final selection results are targeted for announcement by the end of October 2026. All tests for the skilled player recruitment across 25 sports disciplines have been completed, with final results expected in the second week of June 2026. Phase-wise actions for other technical and clerical recruitments are also ongoing.

While discussing the cases of deceased dependent recruitment, the Chief Minister instructed to simplify the rules with a humane and practical approach. The meeting also reported that currently, a total of 9,406 positions are undergoing promotion processes. Related departmental examinations and evaluation procedures are in progress, with results being released in phases.

It was noted that from 2017 to May 2026, the recruitment board has selected a total of 221,245 candidates across various categories. During this period, 160,819 police personnel have been promoted. The Chief Minister stated that the Uttar Pradesh Police is one of the largest and most significant police forces in the country. By making recruitment and promotion processes faster, transparent, and technology-driven, the police force will be further empowered.
