SIT Files Second Charge Sheet in Nashik Sexual Harassment and Forced Conversion Case

Nashik, May 29: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sexual harassment and alleged forced conversion case at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik has filed a second charge sheet in court. This charge sheet details allegations of exploitation and religious coercion.

Officials reported that the charge sheet, submitted on Thursday, relates to eight FIRs registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Mumbai Naka police station. The accused named in the charge sheet include Raza Rafiq Memon, Shahrukh Hussain Shaukat Qureshi, Ashwini Ashok Chainani, Tausif Bilal Attar, Shafi Bikhkan Sheikh, Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Nida Ejaz Khan, and others.

The charge sheet was presented in the court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate in Nashik.

Previously, on May 22, the SIT had filed a separate 1,500-page charge sheet at the Deolali Camp police station concerning IPC and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act violations. This initial charge sheet named Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan, and Mateen Majid Patel as accused.

The SIT was established following allegations from several female employees working at the Nashik unit of the prominent IT firm, who reported experiences of harassment, attempts at forced conversion, religious insensitivity, molestation, and mental abuse.

According to the complainants, the accused allegedly targeted employees through WhatsApp groups, pressuring them to pray and consume non-vegetarian food. Some victims also claimed they were coerced into adopting certain religious practices, including prayer, dietary changes, and wearing religious symbols.

Meanwhile, police have also questioned All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimin (AIMIM) councilor Mateen Patel, who is accused of allegedly sheltering Nida Khan during her time on the run. Officials stated that Patel was interrogated for approximately nine hours on May 25 and has been summoned again for questioning on June 1.

Earlier, on May 22, the SIT had filed its first charge sheet related to the Deolali police station case against Nida Khan, Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, and AIMIM councilor Mateen Patel.
