Patna, May 29: The government bungalow located at 10 Circular Road, long associated with former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, will no longer be her official residence. The Bihar government has allocated this bungalow to Minister Nand Kishore Ram.
According to an order issued by the Building Construction Department on Friday, the bungalow has officially been assigned to Nand Kishore Ram. Preparations are underway to install a new VIP nameplate, signaling the formal transfer of the property.
Previously, the department had issued an official notice to Rabri Devi, instructing her to vacate the government residence at 10 Circular Road.
This bungalow holds significant importance in Bihar’s political landscape. It has been linked to former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi for many years. The location has been a central hub for crucial political meetings, strategic discussions, and organizational activities of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
In exchange, the government has allocated a new official bungalow to Rabri Devi in the upscale Harding Road area of Patna. According to officials, this residence is fully equipped to meet the facilities, security arrangements, and government protocols typically afforded to former Chief Ministers.
Sources from the Building Construction Department state that this decision is part of standard administrative procedures and has been made in accordance with established rules regarding government housing allocations. The department noted that ministers are assigned government residences based on their positions, and this transfer of the 10 Circular Road bungalow to Nand Kishore Ram follows that protocol.
Officials also indicated that such reshuffling of government residences for ministers and senior officials has occurred previously under administrative processes.
However, this decision has sparked discussions in Patna’s political corridors. Leaders from both the ruling and opposition parties are interpreting this event from different political perspectives, leading to speculation about its potential political implications and messages.
