New Delhi, April 9: In the 14th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Gujarat Titans (GT) set a formidable target of 211 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday, thanks to half-centuries from captain Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Jos Buttler.

DC captain Axar Patel won the toss and opted to bat first. The team faced an early setback, losing Sai Sudharsan (12) in just 2.1 overs, with only 19 runs on the board.

Following this, captain Shubman Gill partnered with Jos Buttler to add 60 runs for the second wicket in just 32 balls. Buttler scored 52 runs off 27 balls, hitting 5 sixes and 3 fours before getting out.

Gill then joined forces with Washington Sundar, and the duo put together a remarkable 104-run partnership off 60 balls. Gill scored 70 runs from 45 balls, smashing 5 sixes and 4 fours before returning to the pavilion. Sundar contributed with a solid 55 runs off 32 balls, including 2 sixes and 6 fours. For DC, Mukesh Kumar was the standout bowler, claiming 2 wickets, while Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket each.

DC made no changes to their playing XI for this match, while GT made one adjustment. Captain Gill returned to the lineup, leading to Kumar Kushagra being left out.

Delhi Capitals aimed to secure a hat-trick of wins in this match. They previously triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets and repeated the feat against Mumbai Indians (MI) by the same margin.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans were looking to open their account in the tournament after suffering a 3-wicket loss to Punjab Kings (PBKS) and narrowly losing to Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 runs.
