New Delhi, February 18: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi stated that the CBI investigation into the death of former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will help answer the questions troubling the public. This statement follows Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar‘s call for a CBI inquiry into her husband’s death.
In an interview in New Delhi, Chaturvedi acknowledged the impact of this tragic event on Sunetra Pawar‘s family, emphasizing that her husband was a prominent leader in Maharashtra. The family had previously held a press conference discussing the condition of the aircraft involved, mentioning the state of the black box and the possibility of needing to send it abroad for further examination. Given these circumstances, Sunetra Pawar’s request for a CBI probe was accepted by the government, which Chaturvedi believes will clarify many public concerns.
Commenting on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s remarks about the Election Commission, Chaturvedi expressed that the necessary transparency and independence within the commission are lacking. She noted that the commission’s actions seem to align with the government’s expectations, raising questions among the public regarding the electoral process and their voting rights. She described the current atmosphere as somewhat oppressive.
Regarding the University Grants Commission (UGC), Chaturvedi highlighted a recent Supreme Court ruling that imposed a stay on UGC guidelines, citing that these guidelines contradicted principles of natural justice. She criticized them for introducing more discrimination within universities, which she deemed unfortunate and dangerous for future generations.
On the topic of the AI Summit, Chaturvedi remarked that while the summit focuses on innovation and developing learning models, any attempt to claim credit for another’s invention is outright plagiarism and detrimental to the country. She stressed that with such a significant international event, no one should assert that a creation solely belongs to them, especially if it could be exposed by foreign handlers. She believes that Galgotias University should issue an apology.
