
New Delhi, May 30: On the occasion of Goa Statehood Day, President and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt greetings to the residents of the state. Both leaders shared special messages on the social media platform ‘X’, praising Goa’s cultural heritage, progress, and its contributions to a ‘Developed India’.
In a post from the official ‘X’ handle of the President of India, it was stated, “Warm wishes to the people of Goa on Statehood Day! Goa is renowned not only for its rich cultural heritage and hospitality but also for its remarkable advancements in education, technology, startups, and sustainable development.”
The post further emphasized, “With its commitment to innovation, environmental protection, and inclusive development, Goa will play a significant role in building a ‘Developed India’. I wish for continuous prosperity and happiness for the people of Goa.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to ‘X’ to convey his wishes to the people of Goa on this special occasion. He wrote, “On the special occasion of Goa Statehood Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Goa. The vibrant culture, rich heritage, natural beauty, and friendly people of Goa are renowned worldwide.”
He added, “This day is also an opportunity to gratefully remember all those who have worked tirelessly for Goa’s progress and identity. May Goa continue to prosper and play its vital role in the creation of a ‘Developed India’. I pray for the good health and prosperity of every Goan.”
Goa was granted full statehood on May 30, 1987. After liberation from Portuguese rule, Goa embarked on a new path of development. Today, the state is a leader in tourism, education, IT, and the pharmaceutical sector. Goa’s natural beauty, beaches, cultural diversity, and serene environment make it a favorite destination for both domestic and international tourists. The state government is particularly focused on sustainable development, environmental protection, and empowering youth through startups.
