Karnataka Congress Legislative Party Meeting to Elect New Leader Following Siddaramaiahs Resignation

New Delhi, May 30: The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in Karnataka has convened a meeting today amid ongoing political developments following Siddaramaiah’s resignation from the Chief Minister position.

This meeting aims to elect a new leader for the Congress Legislative Party, who is expected to be the party’s candidate for Chief Minister.

The CLP meeting will commence at 4 PM in the conference hall of Vidhana Soudha. Siddaramaiah, currently the leader of the Congress Legislative Party, will preside over the meeting.

Key attendees will include D.K. Shivakumar, President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala, Leader of the House in the Legislative Council N.S. Bose Raju, and all executive presidents of the party.

The announcement was made by Allamaprabhu Patil, Secretary of the Congress Legislative Party and MLA.

All members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Legislative Council (MLCs), Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha have been invited to participate in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah has departed from Delhi after meetings with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge. He is expected to arrive at Bengaluru’s HAL Airport by 5:30 PM today.

Before leaving Delhi, Siddaramaiah had lunch with D.K. Shivakumar, Congress MLC Yatindra Siddaramaiah, and former minister K.H. Muniyappa.

Siddaramaiah also met with AICC General Secretary (Organization) K.C. Venugopal in Delhi. Later, he discussed matters with D.K. Shivakumar and former minister K.J. George.

In the meantime, Karnataka Minister H.K. Patil stated on Friday that D.K. Shivakumar is set to become the next Chief Minister and may take the oath within the next two days.

In an interview, Patil mentioned, “Shivakumar has already been nominated for the Chief Minister position. When former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah discussed the conversations held in Delhi, he clearly stated that he was advised to resign, and it was decided that Shivakumar would be the next Chief Minister. At that moment, it became clear that Shivakumar would indeed be our next Chief Minister.”
