Akhilesh Yadavs Leadership Could Ensure Success for the INDIA Alliance, Says Ravidas Mehrotra

Lucknow, June 1: In a recent conversation, Samajwadi Party legislator Ravidas Mehrotra expressed confidence that if Akhilesh Yadav leads the INDIA alliance, it could secure victories in all upcoming elections. He highlighted Yadav’s selfless campaigning for alliance candidates in Bihar and West Bengal. According to Mehrotra, Yadav has the ability to unite all parties and provide strong leadership.

Mehrotra also criticized the Congress party, stating that it often fails to adhere to the principles of coalition politics. He remarked, “The INDIA alliance is intact, but Congress frequently makes statements that harm the coalition. Rahul Gandhi’s comments against Mamata Banerjee had political repercussions. All parties in the alliance must respect and support each other. Congress needs to honor coalition principles.”

When asked about the future of the INDIA alliance, Mehrotra praised Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that his leadership would strengthen the coalition and enhance its performance in upcoming elections. He noted, “Akhilesh Yadav campaigned for INDIA alliance candidates in states like Bihar and West Bengal without demanding any seats. He sent workers there and appealed to the public to support the alliance. This reflects his political commitment and broad vision.”

Mehrotra further emphasized Yadav’s capacity to bring all parties together, stating that his acceptance is continually growing. He believes that if the INDIA alliance requires strong and effective leadership, Akhilesh Yadav could be a formidable option.

He added, “Today, it is essential for all opposition parties to unite and work to protect democracy and the Constitution. If the INDIA alliance remains united and moves forward with strong leadership, the public will support it in the upcoming elections.”

Regarding the alleged attacks on TMC leaders in West Bengal, Mehrotra expressed concern over the incidents involving TMC leaders and MPs Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee. He accused the BJP of targeting opposition leaders, stating that such actions are not a good sign for democracy. He asserted that an attack on any public representative should be viewed as an attack on the democratic system itself.

Criticizing the BJP, he noted that despite being in power at the center and in several states, the party is attempting to suppress the opposition’s voice. He alleged that there is a concerted effort to weaken opposition parties through oppression and intimidation.

He stated, “BJP members are orchestrating attacks on opposition MPs and leaders. Whether it’s throwing eggs or humiliating them in the name of protests, BJP’s politics has devolved into oppression, tyranny, and dictatorship. There is an ongoing attempt to silence the opposition.”

Mehrotra also addressed the rising crime rates in Uttar Pradesh, holding the state government accountable. He pointed out that while the government claims to conduct five encounters daily, the reality is that numerous murders occur each day. He remarked that these incidents indicate a complete lack of fear of the law among criminals. The state government has continued to boast about encounters, but if they were truly effective in curbing crime, a decrease would be evident. Instead, the situation is the opposite, with mafia rule and lawlessness prevailing. Criminals are emboldened, while the public lives in fear. The rule of law has nearly vanished.
