New Delhi, June 1: CPI(M) leader Hannan Mollah has sharply criticized TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee, stating that the current turmoil faced by TMC is a result of their own actions. He emphasized that what is happening now is a reflection of their past behavior. However, he also condemned the violence, asserting that such actions should not be supported.
Mollah pointed out that West Bengal has witnessed numerous incidents of violence and oppression during political conflicts over the years. He noted that activists from various political parties have faced atrocities, and there have been instances of office occupations and severe political confrontations. Such a situation is detrimental to any democratic system. He stressed that political differences should be resolved through democratic means, not through violence.
He remarked that the political landscape in West Bengal has long been marred by accusations and counter-accusations. Mollah urged all political parties to engage in self-reflection and steer clear of violent politics.
Regarding recent statements by Rahul Gandhi and concerns raised about the examination system, he acknowledged that there are significant issues within the country’s examination and education systems. He highlighted ongoing problems such as paper leaks and irregularities, which are alarming.
Mollah also pointed out that rising inflation and increasing diesel and petrol prices are affecting the general public, impacting both the education system and social structure. He warned that if the system in the country is not robust, it will adversely affect the examination processes as well.
On issues related to CBSE and examination security, he stated that it is essential to acknowledge flaws within any institution. However, he noted that the problem is not confined to a single state or government but is widespread.
When asked about Ramachandra Guha’s comments on Rahul Gandhi, Mollah said that it is Guha’s personal opinion, and different people may have varying views on the matter. He emphasized that the evaluation of any leader is determined by the public and time, not just one individual’s remarks.
He concluded by stating that true leadership in politics is established when it has the backing of the public. According to him, a leader’s acceptance depends on public support. He noted that leaders from various political parties are playing their roles, and it is ultimately the public that decides whom to support.
