
Ahmedabad, June 1: Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the opening batsman for Rajasthan Royals (RR), has been awarded the title of ‘Most Valuable Player’ for IPL 2026. He also secured the ‘Orange Cap’ for scoring 776 runs this season.
After the conclusion of IPL 2026, Vaibhav expressed, “I feel great, but I am under pressure due to the interviews. You cannot play every match the same way. If I want to avoid injuries, I need to focus on my fitness. Everyone has been very supportive. All the senior players and support staff have been there for me, and the atmosphere here is fantastic.”
While Vaibhav claimed the ‘Orange Cap’, Kagiso Rabada earned the ‘Purple Cap‘ for taking 29 wickets this season.
Punjab Kings received the ‘Fair Play Award’. Manish Pandey was honored with the ‘Catch of the Season’ award for his stunning catch at backward point to dismiss Tim David. Mohammed Siraj received recognition for bowling the most dot balls (172) this season.
Sai Sudharsan was awarded for hitting the most fours (75) during the season. Additionally, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was recognized as the ‘Emerging Player of the Season’, ‘Super Striker of the Season’ (237.3), and for the ‘Super Sixes of the Season’ (72).
The IPL 2026 final took place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, where Royal Challengers Bangalore triumphed over Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets.
Batting first after losing the toss, Gujarat Titans scored 155 runs, losing 8 wickets. Washington Sundar played a crucial innings, remaining unbeaten on 50 runs. In response, RCB achieved victory in 18 overs, with Virat Kohli scoring an impressive 75 runs off 42 balls.
