Jagannath Temple Prepares for Bathing Festival and Chariot Festival in Puri

Puri, June 1: Preparations are in full swing for the major religious events at the Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri. A crucial meeting was held with temple administration and related committees to discuss the schedule and arrangements for the Bathing Festival and Chariot Festival.

The meeting involved members from the temple management committee’s policy sub-committee and the servitors’ organization. Chief Officer Arvind Padhi stated that this meeting was specifically convened to finalize preparations for the upcoming events. He mentioned that the complete schedule for the religious rituals associated with both festivals is nearly finalized and will soon be presented to the temple management committee for final approval.

The discussion not only covered the outline of the religious programs but also delved into the administrative and operational aspects of the events. Efforts were made to ensure that all arrangements run smoothly during the Bathing Festival and Chariot Festival, preventing any inconvenience to the devotees.

Arvind Padhi emphasized the importance of better coordination among servitors, temple administration, district administration, and police administration to ensure the success of these events. He assured that all parties are working together to provide a safe and organized experience for the devotees participating in the rituals and festivities.

He also noted that all departments and staff associated with the temple are committed to ensuring that both major festivals are conducted peacefully and grandly. Continuous reviews of the preparations are underway, with attention given to every detail.

Meanwhile, the inventory and counting process of the Ratna Bhandar has been temporarily halted. According to Arvind Padhi, this process will resume following the next decision from the temple management committee. For now, all focus remains on the preparations for the upcoming religious events.
