
Lucknow, June 1: In response to the severe thunderstorms and heavy rains that have affected Uttar Pradesh over the past three days, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to maintain vigilance and expedite relief operations.
Following incidents of storms and heavy rainfall across several districts on Sunday, the Chief Minister instructed district administrations, the Relief Commissioner’s office, and relevant departments to monitor the situation continuously and ensure prompt action in case of any disasters. The ongoing weather disturbances are attributed to a western disturbance, which has already resulted in loss of life and damage to crops in various areas.
The Meteorological Department issued a rain alert for all 75 districts of the state on Sunday. Many regions have reported strong winds accompanied by rainfall and hail. The Chief Minister has urged the public to exercise caution during this adverse weather.
He emphasized that in districts where severe storms, rainfall, hail, or other natural disasters have caused loss of life or livestock, immediate relief funds should be distributed to affected families.
The Chief Minister stated that any negligence in relief efforts will not be tolerated, and timely assistance must reach every affected individual. He also instructed officials to conduct immediate assessments of crop damage caused by storms, rain, and hail. Revenue and agriculture department teams should be dispatched to affected areas to evaluate the situation and report back to the government to ensure farmers receive appropriate support.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister has called on the electricity department to restore power supply quickly in affected areas and ensure the safety of citizens from fallen wires and poles.
District administrations have been directed to conduct regular inspections in their respective areas to assess the situation and carry out swift relief and rescue operations in emergencies.
The Chief Minister appealed to the public to remain cautious during inclement weather, avoid unnecessary exposure outdoors, and follow the guidelines issued by the administration. He assured that the state government is closely monitoring the situation, prioritizing the safety of its citizens.
