Tensions Rise in Karimnagar as BJP Workers Attempt Attack on BRS Legislators Office

Hyderabad, May 7: Tensions escalated in Karimnagar, Telangana, on Thursday when BJP workers allegedly attempted to attack BRS legislator Padi Kaushik Reddy. The incident occurred during a press conference at the office of fellow BRS legislator Gangula Kamalakar, where Reddy was addressing the media.

The BJP workers targeted Reddy following his comments about Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Supporters of Sanjay vandalized Reddy’s car and destroyed furniture in Kamalakar’s office.

BRS workers confronted the opposing group, leading to police intervention. Authorities dispersed both factions and detained several BRS activists.

The controversy began when Reddy accused Sanjay of using drugs alongside tobacco during his press conference. He further claimed that this habit had caused Sanjay to lose his hair. Reddy also challenged Sanjay to undergo a drug test, stating that BRS Executive President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) was willing to take one as well.

In response to Reddy’s statements, BJP workers arrived at Kamalakar’s office, attempting to assault Reddy. They attacked the legislator’s car with sticks, shattering its windows, and vandalized office furniture.

A group of BRS workers also arrived at the scene and caused damage to Sanjay’s vehicle, which was parked nearby.

Meanwhile, KTR condemned the attack on the BRS office by supporters of Bandi Sanjay. He expressed his outrage on Facebook, describing the assault as a despicable act. He criticized the police for being passive observers during the chaos, allowing the destruction to unfold before their eyes.
