Gandhinagar, May 17: Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated on Sunday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) currently govern 80% of the country. He attributed this political expansion to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the dedicated efforts of party workers on the ground.
While inaugurating and laying the foundation for development projects in Gandhinagar, Shah emphasized that the BJP has rapidly expanded its influence across the nation in recent years, emerging as a significant political force in several states.
He noted, “Today, the BJP and NDA are in power across 80% of the country. The Ganges flows from Uttarakhand and merges into the sea in Bengal. The BJP’s governance has spread from Uttarakhand to Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Bengal. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the NDA government has returned to power at the center for the third consecutive term.”
Shah highlighted that the credit for every victory belongs to the grassroots workers of the BJP. These local activists have maintained a strong connection with the public by actively addressing their issues. Party workers and leaders take even the smallest local concerns seriously.
The Home Minister also mentioned the BJP’s growth from state-level strength to national prominence. He remarked that after independence, the Congress party held significant sway across the country due to Mahatma Gandhi’s influence. Now, the BJP is expanding nationwide based on its organizational strength and public support.
Referencing the recent local body elections in Gujarat, Shah stated that the BJP secured victories in all municipal corporations and achieved significant success in municipalities and panchayats. He praised Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s government for advancing development initiatives.
