NCPs Anand Paranjape Joins Shiv Sena Amid Leadership Uncertainty

Mumbai, May 17: The political landscape has shifted as Anand Paranjape, the chief spokesperson of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has joined Shiv Sena. This move has sparked intensified political discussions. Shiv Sena clarified that Paranjape joined voluntarily, citing internal instability within the NCP as the primary reason for his decision.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Raju Waghmare stated, “Anand Paranjape expressed his desire to join Shiv Sena. We did not reach out to him; he chose to join on his own.”

Waghmare further elaborated that the NCP is currently facing significant confusion and irregularities in its leadership and operations. Paranjape’s transition to Shiv Sena is a direct result of these circumstances.

Previously, Paranjape met with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. After their meeting, he remarked, “Sharad Pawar has always been honorable to me, and will continue to be. I sought his blessings as I embark on this new journey with Shiv Sena. The meeting was personal.”

Paranjape noted that Pawar advised him to work diligently and contribute effectively to his new party.

In response to allegations that Shiv Sena is attempting to weaken the NCP, Paranjape stated, “Senior Shiv Sena minister Uday Samant has already clarified his position. He mentioned that my entry into Shiv Sena occurred after discussions with NCP chief Sunetra Pawar. Therefore, there is no conflict between the two parties.”

Paranjape emphasized, “I have not demanded any position within Shiv Sena. I simply requested Eknath Shinde to assign me responsibilities within the organization. I am more interested in working for the party. I will contribute to the organization’s growth as a party worker.”
