Ahmedabad, May 18: A significant operation took place at Rajkot Airport on Sunday, resulting in the seizure of approximately 180 kilograms of silver, valued at around ₹5 crores. This action was based on intelligence received by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
Authorities were alerted that a large shipment of silver was to be delivered to an individual in Rajkot. Following this tip-off, coordination among various agencies was swiftly established to ensure prompt investigation and action.
The Rajkot Crime Branch was immediately informed, leading to the deployment of an ATS team to the airport. Together, the ATS and Crime Branch conducted a joint operation to track and intercept the shipment, while also investigating the circumstances surrounding its arrival.
During the operation, officials apprehended the individual who came to collect the shipment and seized the associated parcels. In accordance with protocol, the parcels were opened in the presence of the individual for inspection.
