Lucknow, May 17: The Uttar Pradesh government has finally allocated departments to its newly appointed ministers following a cabinet expansion that took place about a week ago. The delay in this allocation had sparked discussions in political circles.
The government has released a list assigning responsibilities to all new ministers. With their departments now confirmed, the ministers will begin their duties. According to the allocation list, Bhupendra Chaudhary has been assigned the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department.
Manoj Pandey will oversee the Food and Logistics as well as the Civil Supplies Department. Ajit Singh Pal has been given charge of the Food Security and Drug Administration Department. Somendra Tomar is responsible for the Political Pension, Soldier Welfare, and Provincial Armed Constabulary Department. Krishna Paswan will handle the Livestock and Dairy Development Department, while Kailash Singh Rajput has been assigned the Energy and Additional Energy Sources Department.
Among the state ministers, Surendra Diler has been linked to the Revenue Department. Hansraj Vishwakarma has been given responsibilities within the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department. Since the cabinet expansion, there has been significant focus on the allocation of departments, but the announcement took nearly a week, leading to ongoing speculation.
Recently, a ceremony at the Raj Bhavan saw Governor Anandiben Patel administer the oath of office to eight leaders, including six newcomers. The cabinet expansion included two cabinet ministers, two state ministers (independent charge), and four state ministers. Ajit Singh Pal and Somendra Tomar took their oaths as state ministers (independent charge). Other leaders were assigned responsibilities considering the government’s and organization’s dynamics.
The cabinet expansion and department allocation are being viewed in the context of upcoming electoral strategies and social equations. The government aims to maintain regional and caste balance while strengthening coordination between the organization and the administration.
