Six Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Balochistan IED Blast; Multiple Attacks on Military Posts

Islamabad, Aug 12 (H.S.) – At least six Pakistani soldiers were killed on Sunday night in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Gwadar city, Balochistan. According to local sources, the attack occurred in the New Town area, targeting a military vehicle that was part of an army convoy. The explosion completely destroyed the vehicle, and debris was cleared from the site by Monday morning around 10 a.m.

The Balochistan Post reported that Pakistani authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident. Following the blast, security forces cordoned off the area. Meanwhile, in Kech district’s Mand area, armed militants launched coordinated attacks on military camps in Mahir and Soro, triggering heavy gunfire and multiple explosions.

Earlier, in Awaran’s Jhao area, gunmen attacked and seized a Levies check-post on the main road, disarming personnel and setting the post ablaze. In nearby Jhao Naundra, another military post was attacked, with militants reportedly shooting down a quadcopter during the assault.

On Monday night in Washuk district’s Basima area, residents reported hearing more than 14 explosions and prolonged gunfire for over half an hour near a central military camp. Casualty figures from these incidents have yet to be confirmed.

In Khuzdar district’s Zehri area, Pakistani forces continued military operations in Bulbul, Tarasani, and Ghazan. Local sources said several clashes occurred between troops and armed fighters, with military helicopters seen patrolling overhead.
