
Chennai, May 30: The Tamil Nadu government has initiated a significant administrative reshuffle within the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). This move involves the transfer of several district collectors, departmental secretaries, and other senior officials, assigning them new responsibilities. An official order has been released by the government, leading to notable changes at the administrative level.
According to the issued order, E. Sundaravalli (IAS), the Commissioner of College Education, has been transferred and appointed as the Special Secretary in the Public and Rehabilitation Department. R. Lalitha (IAS), the Managing Director of the New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited, has been assigned the role of Expenditure Secretary in the Finance Department. Additionally, A.K. Kamal Kishore (IAS), the District Collector of Tenkasi, and M.S. Prashant (IAS), the District Collector of Kallakurichi, have been appointed as Joint Secretaries in the Finance Department.
R. Alagumina (IAS), the District Collector of Kanyakumari, has been transferred to serve as the Deputy Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare Department. Pooja Kulkarni (IAS), the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board, has been appointed as the Commissioner of Prohibition and Excise. Similarly, V. Amuthavalli (IAS) has been designated as the Commissioner of the Rural Development Department, while P. Ponnaiya (IAS) has been appointed as the Commissioner of the College Education Department.
Dr. T.G. Vinay (IAS) has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, while R. Kannan (IAS) has been designated as the Sugar Commissioner. He will also hold additional responsibilities as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency.
Significant changes have also been made at the district level. B. Priyanka (IAS), the District Collector of Thanjavur, has been transferred to serve as the Director of Municipal Panchayats. P. Akash (IAS), the District Collector of Nagapattinam, has been appointed as the new District Collector of Madurai, while K.J. Praveen Kumar (IAS) has been designated as the District Collector of Nagapattinam. Dr. R. Vaithinathan (IAS) has been appointed as the new Collector of Theni district.
Collector swaps have also occurred in Tiruchirappalli and Dharmapuri districts, with V. Saravanan (IAS) taking over as Collector of Dharmapuri and Prateek Tayal (IAS) becoming the Collector of Tiruchirappalli. Vandana Garg (IAS), returning from leave, has been appointed as the District Collector of Tiruvannamalai. Furthermore, J.E. Padmaja (IAS) has been designated as the Collector of Kallakurichi, N. Priya (IAS) for Ranipet, L. Madhubalan (IAS) for Namakkal, Anand Mohan (IAS) for Tirunelveli, and P.S. Leela Alex (IAS) for Vellore.
In Thanjavur, R. Revathi (IAS) has been appointed as the new District Collector, while Dr. M. Veerappan (IAS) has taken over as the Collector of Chengalpattu. Several officials have also been assigned important roles in various government enterprises and development corporations. K. Tharpgaraj (IAS) has been sent as the Additional Registrar of Cooperatives, while R. Satish (IAS) has been appointed as the Director of the Department of Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non-Resident Tamils.
Other appointments include Mangat Ram Sharma (IAS) as the Chairman and Managing Director of Powerfin and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. J. Jayakanthan (IAS) has been designated as the CMD of Poompuhar Shipping Corporation, while E. Sarvanavelraj (IAS) has been appointed as the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited.
The government has also appointed P.N. Sridhar (IAS) as the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation. S.P. Karthika (IAS) has been designated as the Chief Executive Officer of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority. R.V. Shajivana (IAS) has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation.
Additionally, Simranjeet Singh Kahlon (IAS), previously the District Collector of Ramanathapuram, has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Chennai River Restoration Trust. B. Ganeshan (IAS) has been designated as the Managing Director of New Tiruppur Area Development Corporation Limited. Ranjit Singh (IAS) has been appointed as the Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Limited, while V.R. Subbulakshmi (IAS) has been designated as the Chief Operating Officer of the Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project.
