Jammu, May 30: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that the state government is studying the management system of the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir. The aim is to enhance crowd management, security, and facilities for pilgrims at major religious sites in the state.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu before departing for the shrine, Yadav stated that a delegation from the Madhya Pradesh government has been tasked with conducting a detailed study of the arrangements at the shrine. This includes examining the digital registration system, crowd control measures, accommodation facilities, and organized darshan management.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is continuously working to improve facilities for devotees at religious sites in Madhya Pradesh. “Our goal is to adopt successful systems from across the country to develop the state as an ideal destination for pilgrims,” he said.
During his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Yadav also engaged in discussions with officials from the Jammu and Kashmir tourism department regarding pilgrimage management and tourism infrastructure.
He noted that this study would aid the state government in modernizing administrative arrangements and improving services at major religious sites, including the Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Omkareshwar Dham, and Bhojshala in Dhar.
Yadav further remarked that the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has established a well-organized and service-oriented system for devotees. In addition to darshan arrangements, it also operates educational and healthcare institutions. “We want to study this model in detail and develop similar facilities in Madhya Pradesh,” he added.
Highlighting ongoing religious infrastructure projects in the state, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned that approximately ₹30,000 crores worth of development projects are underway in Ujjain for the 2028 Simhastha festival. He also noted that the Ekta Dham project in Omkareshwar, estimated to cost around ₹3,000 crores, is progressing rapidly.
