Nitish Kumars Decision to Join BJP Criticized by Congress Leader Hussain Dalwai

Mumbai, March 6: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s sudden decision to join the Rajya Sabha has sparked a heated debate in political circles. What prompted him to leave Bihar for Delhi? In this context, senior Congress leader Hussain Dalwai from Maharashtra has claimed that if Nitish Kumar had not allied with the BJP, he would not be facing the current situation.

NDA leaders assert that the decision to join the Rajya Sabha was made solely by Nitish Kumar, while the opposition accuses the BJP of exerting pressure.

In a conversation in Mumbai, Congress leader Hussain Dalwai stated that Nitish Kumar’s alliance with the BJP was a wrong decision, the repercussions of which he is now experiencing. Bihar has always been a land of socialist ideals. Such a situation has never occurred in Bihar before; now, the BJP will govern there, and the JD(U) will continue to weaken.

Dalwai suggested that it would have been better for Nitish Kumar to collaborate with Lalu Prasad Yadav and his son Tejashwi Yadav to run the government, rather than aligning with the BJP.

Regarding the recent changes in governors across several states, Dalwai remarked that governors should not belong to any party and must act impartially. However, he accused the current governors of interfering in states governed by opposition parties, imposing their views through political pressure, which he deemed completely inappropriate. Governors should consider the realities of their states when performing their duties. The central government is extending its political influence through governors everywhere, he added.

On the Maharashtra cabinet’s approval of the anti-conversion bill, Congress leader Hussain Dalwai criticized the government’s interference in personal matters such as marriage. He emphasized that it should be up to individuals to decide whom to marry, without the need for conversion. He pointed out that many Muslim women marry Hindus, and it is incorrect to suggest that only Hindu women marry Muslims. Interfaith marriages between Sikhs and Hindus also occur frequently. The government’s pressure in this regard is highly inappropriate.
