Over 60,000 Participate in Gujarats Digital Self-Enumeration Campaign for 2027 Census

Gandhinagar, May 19: Gujarat’s Chief Secretary, M.K. Das, announced on Tuesday that over 60,000 individuals have participated in the central government’s digital self-enumeration campaign for the upcoming population census.

Das completed the process by entering his family’s details on the online self-enumeration portal initiated by the central government. This initiative allows citizens to submit census-related information digitally, moving away from the traditional method of data collection door-to-door.

After completing the process, the Chief Secretary described the system as highly simple and transparent, noting that the campaign has received enthusiastic responses across Gujarat. He stated that more than 60,000 citizens have already benefited from this service.

Das urged government officials and employees statewide to participate in the campaign and encourage widespread public involvement. He expressed confidence that the introduction of this digital facility would make future census processes faster and more accurate.

He emphasized that the new digital feature would significantly expedite and enhance the accuracy of the entire census process. Senior political leaders in Gujarat have also participated in this campaign.

The Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Purnesh Modi, completed his self-enumeration by submitting his family’s details on the online portal.

In a separate event, the state’s Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Manisha Vakil, also took part in the self-enumeration and utilized the portal to fill in her family’s details. Vakil urged citizens to support the nationwide campaign, stating that all individuals should contribute to the self-enumeration initiative being conducted across the country.
