Kolkata, March 9: Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has launched a strong critique against Mamata Banerjee. He stated that it is evident when a party is on the verge of losing an election, they resort to making such allegations. Banerjee seems to realize that the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) is likely to lose in West Bengal, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to come to power. This is why such accusations, propaganda, and protests are being initiated in advance.
Maurya accused Banerjee of being in power and leading a corrupt administration. He claimed that she has consistently won elections through corrupt practices, and many of her ministers face serious corruption charges, with bundles of cash being seized. He described the TMC as a party of goons, criminals, mafias, and rioters, asserting that Mamata didi must now step down.
Regarding the treatment of President Droupadi Murmu in Bengal, Maurya remarked that if Banerjee cannot even welcome the President of India according to protocol, and if there are protests against constitutional bodies like the Election Commission, it indicates that Banerjee and her party members have lost faith in the Constitution of India.
It is noteworthy that the BJP recently accused the TMC of disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu during her visit to Bengal. Prime Minister Modi stated on March 8 that while the nation was celebrating International Women’s Day, the TMC government had shown gross disrespect to the President during her attendance at a significant tribal festival in Bengal, which was boycotted by the TMC.
