Bengaluru, May 13: Central Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy launched a sharp attack on the Congress party regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the functioning of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC). He accused the ruling party of being responsible for the decline of the recruitment body during its tenure.
Speaking to the media in Bengaluru, Kumaraswamy questioned the Congress government’s record on exam management in Karnataka. “How many times have exams been postponed in our state? Were there no irregularities during Congress rule? The Congress has failed to reform the KPSC. Today, people openly discuss the miserable state of the commission,” he stated.
Kumaraswamy claimed that the decline of the KPSC began under Congress administration and accused the ruling party of fostering corruption in recruitment processes.
He asserted that Congress is to blame for the plight of the KPSC. “The Chief Minister (Siddaramaiah) promised to clean up the system, but what has Congress actually cleaned up? There have been public discussions about fixed pay scales for government positions. This environment was created by Congress,” he said.
Referring to reports of exam paper leaks in Rajasthan, the central minister remarked that it is unfair to blame governments for isolated incidents. “There have been paper leaks in Rajasthan as well. Sometimes individuals make mistakes, and it is unreasonable to hold the entire government accountable for every incident. Similar events have occurred multiple times during Congress rule in Karnataka. What moral authority does Congress have to preach to others on this issue?” he concluded.
