Gulf Nations Express Concern Over Oil Refinery Attacks, Kremlin Confirms Putin Will Engage Iran

Moscow, March 3: Russian President Vladimir Putin will inform Iranian leaders about the concerns raised by Gulf nations regarding attacks on oil refineries, as confirmed by the Kremlin.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov shared this information during a media briefing. He stated that Putin made phone calls to leaders from four Gulf countries on Monday, offering to utilize Moscow’s relationship with Tehran to ease tensions in the region. He emphasized the strategic partnership with Iran.

Peskov told reporters, “Putin will certainly make every effort to help reduce tensions.”

During the discussions on Monday, Putin expressed serious concerns to Gulf negotiators regarding the attacks on infrastructure. He aimed to understand the situation better so that discussions with Iranian leadership could progress in the right direction.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a large-scale military operation against Iran, targeting major cities including Tehran. The White House justified the attacks by citing alleged missile and nuclear threats from Iran.

Simultaneously, the U.S. President openly urged the Iranian public to rise against their government and seize power.

Since the U.S. and Israel initiated their campaign against Iran, Putin has not spoken with U.S. President Donald Trump, and Peskov indicated that there are currently no plans for such discussions.

In this joint U.S.-Israeli action, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several high-ranking leaders of the Islamic Republic, were killed. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced retaliatory measures, targeting various locations in Israel. Attacks also occurred on U.S. military bases in Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
