Meanwhile, UIDAI has announced that the free online Aadhaar document update service on the MyAadhaar portal will continue. According to an office memorandum, Aadhaar holders can update their documents on their UID cards without any fee through the MyAadhaar portal until June 14.
The memorandum also noted that this extension was made following positive feedback from Aadhaar cardholders who are updating their information online.
In an update posted on the social media platform X, UIDAI also informed that the M-Aadhaar app will soon be discontinued. Aadhaar holders can now download the new ‘Aadhaar App,’ which offers features such as secure QR-based Aadhaar sharing, enhanced privacy controls, and easier access to Aadhaar services, making the digital identity experience more streamlined and convenient.
This online service, which previously incurred a fee, is now available for free until June 14, 2027, but can only be accessed through the MyAadhaar portal.
The office memo stated, “It has been decided to extend this facility for another year, from June 15, 2026, to June 14, 2027. Therefore, the document update facility will remain free through the MyAadhaar portal until June 14, 2027.”
