Iran Rejects Trump

Tehran, July 29 Iran has firmly rejected former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent claim that it interfered in the Gaza ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas. In an official statement issued on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei called the accusation “completely baseless.”

Baghaei’s statement came in response to Trump’s remarks during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Trump had claimed, “I believe Iran has interfered in the talks; Hamas is being directed and instructed.” However, he did not present any concrete evidence to support this allegation.

Responding to the comments, Baghaei stated, “This accusation is merely an attempt to deflect attention from the role played by the United States in Israel’s ‘atrocities’ against the Palestinian people.” He further added that Hamas negotiators are “fully capable of identifying and safeguarding the interests of the people of Gaza and do not require interference from any third party.”

Calling the ongoing violence in Gaza a “genocide,” the Iranian spokesperson reiterated the call for the international community to take concrete steps to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and halt Israeli actions. He emphasized that Iran supports all initiatives aimed at establishing peace and ending the conflict.

It is noteworthy that recent ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas were held in Qatar. However, the discussions were suspended after American and Israeli delegations walked out, raising fresh doubts over the prospects for peace in the Middle East.
