Kolkata, May 19: West Bengal Cabinet Minister Agnimitra Paul has assured the public that the government will operate with strength and transparency.
He stated, “We will work diligently for our citizens. Cabinet meetings will be held every 15 days to ensure quick decisions that affect the public.”
Agnimitra Paul also mentioned that Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s efforts will become more visible in the coming days. He urged the people to maintain their trust, saying, “The work of our Chief Minister will be more evident now. Please keep your faith.”
This marks the first time the Bharatiya Janata Party has come to power in West Bengal. During a grand oath-taking ceremony in Kolkata, Governor R.N. Ravi administered the oath of office to Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and five other ministers.
Among those who took the oath with Suvendu Adhikari were Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Kirtania, Kshudiram Tudu, and Nisith Pramanik. This historic victory for the BJP signifies the establishment of the first right-wing government in West Bengal, seen as a major shift in the state’s political landscape.
Agnimitra Paul’s political journey has been quite remarkable. She won the Asansol South Assembly seat and has now been appointed as a Cabinet Minister in the new government. Before entering politics, she was a renowned fashion designer, having created costumes for several prominent figures in Bollywood and Tollywood, including Sridevi, Mithun Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta, and Jeet.
