Gujarat Governor Completes Online Self-Enumeration for 2027 Census

Gandhinagar, May 19: Gujarat has made history by launching the country’s first fully digital census process. On Monday, Governor Acharya Devvrat completed the online self-enumeration process for Census 2027 at the Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar. He urged citizens to actively participate in this initiative before the deadline of May 31.

The Governor utilized the official online platform introduced for Census 2027, allowing citizens to fill out their demographic details digitally via a web portal and mobile app.

During this event, Gujarat’s Census Operations Director, Sujal Mayatra, briefed the Governor on the technical arrangements and security features of the digital census process.

Governor Acharya Devvrat emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the country is rapidly advancing towards a digital revolution. He noted that this is the first time in Indian history that a census is being conducted entirely through digital means, making the process easier, safer, and more convenient.

He highlighted the importance of accurate and timely information for building a developed India, stressing that active public participation is crucial for the success of this national campaign.

Officials revealed that the self-enumeration system has been introduced for the first time in Census 2027, enabling citizens to register their information online from anywhere in the country. This facility will be available on the official portal until May 31, where citizens can fill out their details according to the prescribed guidelines.

After the online phase, the census will be conducted door-to-door across Gujarat from June 1 to June 30, with over 100,000 census personnel deployed for this task.

The Governor also extended his best wishes to the Census Department and its staff for the successful execution of this national initiative.

Meanwhile, the state’s Minister of State for Education, Rivaba Jadeja, participated in the campaign by registering her family’s details on the online portal from Gandhinagar. She encouraged people to complete the process through the digital platform before the deadline.

She stated that public participation in the census will play a vital role in formulating better development plans for the country and building a stronger India.
