Udaipur, Aug 12 – On International Youth Day, Hindustan Zinc – the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top five global silver producers – celebrated its young workforce’s dynamism, ambition, and innovative spirit. With 62% of its employees aged under 35, the company is redefining the metal and mining industry by placing technology, sustainability, and visionary young talent at the forefront.

To mark the occasion, Hindustan Zinc launched its ‘Echoes of Tomorrow’ campaign, unveiling a brand film on August 12 that showcases the passion, talent, and impact of its young employees. The film highlights how this energetic workforce is driving innovation, embracing sustainability, and transforming mining into a technology-driven, future-ready sector.
From deploying AI-powered mineral exploration models to implementing sustainability innovations, Hindustan Zinc’s young professionals lead in engineering, environmental initiatives, digitisation, and automation – making mining safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
Hindustan Zinc CEO Arun Misra said, “Our strength lies in our youthful spirit and agility, combining fresh ideas with a shared purpose. As a global leader, we merge stability with the speed of a new-age enterprise. Our commitment to continuous learning ensures every employee is ready to innovate, lead, and succeed in a fast-changing world. On this International Youth Day, we recognise our people not just as contributors, but as catalysts for change, driving technology forward and shaping a sustainable future for the nation and the planet.”
Reflecting its People First philosophy, Hindustan Zinc has implemented industry-leading workplace policies and invests significantly in continuous skill development. In FY24 alone, it recorded over 1.2 lakh hours of learning and development programmes. Women now comprise 25% of the workforce, with a goal to reach 30% by 2030. Structured mentoring, leadership development, inclusive hiring, internal job postings, and leadership-building initiatives such as the We Build programme are central to its growth strategy.
Progressive workplace policies – including spousal employment, wellness leave for physical and mental health, one-year sabbaticals for childcare, flexible working hours, and a monthly ‘no-questions-asked’ leave for women – ensure equal career advancement opportunities.
By placing young talent at the heart of technology, sustainability, and community impact, Hindustan Zinc is shaping not only the future of mining but also the definition of a modern, people-centric organisation. This International Youth Day marks another milestone in its journey to build a legacy of progress for generations to come.
