Jaipur, May 20: A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Khudhanpuri area of Alwar, Rajasthan, on Wednesday. Two minor sisters lost their lives after becoming trapped inside a damaged car.
Reports indicate that the door of the car could not be opened from the inside, leading to suffocation. The victims have been identified as Tina, aged 8, and Lakshmi, aged 5.
According to police and family members, the girls were playing near a car repair center around 11:30 AM when they entered an abandoned red car parked nearby.
CCTV footage from the scene shows the sisters approaching the damaged vehicle, climbing inside from the driver’s side, and closing the door.
Authorities stated that the girls were unable to open the door afterward and became stuck inside the vehicle. Their father, Ramesh, shared that he had left the children at home while he went to work.
“When I returned home for lunch, both my daughters were missing. We searched the area and later found them unconscious inside the car,” he said.
With the help of local residents, the girls were rushed to the district hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.
Ramesh mentioned that the staff at the repair center had previously attempted to keep the children away from the car, but the girls returned to it while playing.
This tragic incident has left the family in shock. Their mother had passed away from a heart attack just four years ago.
Gurudatt Saini, the Station House Officer at the Vaishali Nagar police station, reported that the vehicle involved was completely damaged, with its engine and battery removed.
He noted that initial investigations suggest the children were unable to reopen the door after entering the car, resulting in their tragic deaths. A detailed investigation is currently underway.
