
Greater Noida has become the host city for the world’s largest accounting summit, with delegates from over 40 countries participating. The event, which began on Friday, has attracted more than 10,000 representatives, including 200 international accounting professionals attending around 50 different sessions.
The World Forum of Accountants 2.0 (WOFA 2.0) is organised by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). On the inaugural day, Union Minister Piyush Goyal was present and highlighted the global role of Indian Chartered Accountants, their contribution to economic growth, and the increasing relevance of the accounting profession in a changing global landscape. The forum is emerging as a strong platform for discussion, innovation, and international cooperation with active participation from delegates worldwide.
WOFA 2.0 serves as a significant platform for accounting professionals from India and around the globe. The event started on January 30 and will continue until February 1 at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida. It is recognised as the largest accounting event globally. Over three days, more than 10,000 delegates from over 40 countries are engaging in this mega event.
More than 200 national and international speakers are participating in approximately 50 important sessions covering current and future issues related to accounting, finance, technology, and the economy. Discussions on key topics commenced on the first day. The theme of WOFA 2.0 is “Nation Building to Global Collaboration: Strengthening Trust, Advancing Growth.” This theme underscores the role of India’s accounting profession in nation-building and its growing global contributions. Policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, corporate experts, and accounting and finance professionals from across the world are sharing the stage.
The summit aims to share experiences, discuss better practices, and prepare the profession for the future. Several senior ministers from the central government, heads of regulatory bodies, representatives of international accounting organisations, and top corporate leaders are participating. Notable attendees include Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Pratapsingh Jadhav, and India’s Comptroller and Auditor General Sanjay K. Moorthy.
The ICAI President, CA Charanjot Singh Nanda, explained that WOFA 2.0 was carefully planned. It features over 50 technical sessions, more than 200 speakers, and nearly 100 exhibitors presenting new ideas, solutions, and best practices.
He added that the participation of delegates from various countries highlights India as a reliable global knowledge hub. The three-day event features well-known personalities addressing different sessions, including members of parliament, officials from SEBI, IBBI, IFSCA, senior officers, former DRDO chiefs, prominent industrialists, tech leaders, and finance experts.
Major discussion topics include India’s economic development journey, capital markets, Digital India, artificial intelligence, taxation, startups, MSMEs, sustainability, governance, and India at 2047 – focusing on future challenges and opportunities.
