Rajiv Rai Criticizes Cabinet Meeting as a Distraction from Real Issues

New Delhi, May 21: Rajiv Rai, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, launched a verbal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent foreign trip and the subsequent cabinet meeting. He stated that the Prime Minister would participate in the meeting immediately upon his return, but a detailed response would follow after the meeting.

In an exclusive interview with a news agency, Rai emphasized that the foreign trip involves several national and international issues. However, he believes that various topics are raised to divert attention from these critical matters. “Sometimes, there will be discussions about ‘Melody Chocolate,’ other times about photo shoots, or the fact that the Prime Minister holds a meeting right after arriving. This is a tactic to distract from the real issues,” he remarked.

When asked about Rahul Gandhi’s controversial remarks regarding the Prime Minister and the Home Minister, Rai stated he would refrain from using the same language as Gandhi. However, he expressed that the nation feels deceived when the Prime Minister avoids journalists while projecting an image of a global leader.

He further asserted that disrespect towards the Prime Minister equates to disrespect towards the nation. “The question is, why is the Prime Minister so afraid? He cannot speak without a teleprompter or script,” Rai added.

On the West Bengal government’s decision to make ‘Vande Mataram’ mandatory in madrasas, Rai offered a balanced response. He noted that the matter is currently under the Supreme Court’s consideration, and whatever decision the court makes must be accepted by all.
