Mumbai, May 21: Actor Boman Irani expressed joy at the recognition of legendary stars Dharmendra and Satish Shah with the Padma Awards. He also voiced his surprise that these two esteemed actors had not received this honor earlier.
Reflecting on his memories with both icons, Boman spoke fondly about their warmth, humility, and unforgettable personalities during a special interview.
Boman recalled, “Dharmji was not only the most handsome and charming person I have ever met, but also the kindest. His voice carried compassion and love, making you feel special whenever you met him, as if your presence brought him joy.”
He reminisced about a memorable encounter with the legendary star, saying, “I will never forget how he shook my hand and then gently placed his hand on my face. It was an emotional moment. My face truly trembled. His love and kindness are unforgettable.”
Remembering Satish Shah, Boman noted, “Satish always had a smile on his face. We miss him dearly.”
The Padma Awards were announced earlier this January. The late superstar Dharmendra and the late actor-comedian Satish Shah were among the renowned names honored for their contributions to Indian cinema and entertainment.
Dharmendra is often regarded as one of the most iconic stars in Hindi cinema, having starred in numerous films including ‘Sholay,’ ‘Chupke Chupke,’ ‘Satyakam,’ and ‘Yaadon Ki Baaraat.’
Meanwhile, Satish Shah has been one of the most beloved comedians in the Indian entertainment industry. From films like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro,’ ‘Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,’ and ‘Main Hoon Na’ to the TV sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,’ Satish carved a niche for himself with his impeccable comic timing and versatility.
As for Boman Irani, he is currently preparing for his upcoming film ‘Pedi,’ which features Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Divyendu Sharma in lead roles. The film is set to release on June 4.
