
Chandigarh, May 21: Schools and government offices across the country have been receiving threatening messages. In a recent incident, several schools in Chandigarh and the Haryana Chief Minister’s office received bomb threats on Thursday.
The threats were communicated via email. The message warned of a bomb explosion at Chandigarh schools at 1:11 PM, stating, “The Khalistan issue is not against the girls. Save your children.”
Additionally, the email threatened a bomb blast at the Haryana CM office at 3:11 PM, claiming, “In June 1984, Haryana distributed sweets after the attack on Darbar Sahib by the Indian army. This is revenge.” Furthermore, there were threats of continuous IED explosions on the Delhi-Ambala railway track until June 6.
In response to these threats, security agencies have acted swiftly. Upon receiving the information, the police and cyber cell initiated an investigation and heightened security at the relevant locations. The initial inquiry has deemed the email a serious threat, prompting all precautionary measures to be taken.
Previously, on May 13, threats were directed at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar. During that time, the BJP headquarters in Chandigarh and the central headquarters in Delhi were also mentioned. On May 7, several schools in Jalandhar received similar threatening emails, which included mentions of bomb explosions and suicide attacks. Reports also surfaced about threats to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu.
