Trump Claims Iran Wanted to Negotiate, Says Its Too Late

Washington, March 4: President Donald Trump has reiterated his claim that Iran was willing to negotiate with him, but he rejected their request outright. This significant statement was made through a brief post on Truth Social.

In response to a Washington Post article, Trump stated that Iran’s military and leadership are “finished,” asserting that it is now “too late” for negotiations. The editorial praised his decision to attack Iran, to which Trump responded, “Their air defense, air force, navy, and leadership are gone. They want to talk. I said, ‘It’s too late!'”

On Sunday, Trump mentioned that he would “talk” to Iranian leaders if they requested it. He has continued airstrikes initiated on February 28 and urged Iranians to overthrow their government.

This statement comes a day after Iran clearly distanced itself from any negotiations. Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated on Monday that there are no discussions with the U.S. aimed at establishing peace. This statement was reported by the local media agency Tasnim.

In response to claims in Western media about Tehran requesting talks with Washington, Larijani emphasized that Iran will not engage in negotiations with the U.S.

On Monday morning, The Wall Street Journal reported that Larijani had sent a plan to resume talks with the U.S. through Omani intermediaries. He also remarked on social media that President Trump’s “delusions” have thrown the Middle East into chaos.

In an interview with Atlantic Magazine, Trump stated on Sunday, “Iran’s new leadership wants to talk to them, and they have agreed. But they should have done this earlier. They should have given what was very practical and easy. They are too late.”
